In addition, we carry a high quality line of skin care products to supplement our treatment plans.
Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT)
The development of new procedures over the last 15-20 years for the treatment of venous insufficiency and varicose veins has made it possible to replace varicose vein ligation and stripping, with a procedure that is done in office and can be completed using a local anesthetic, making the recovery time and patient wellness, simple and effortless.
This minimally-invasive procedure, EVLT, uses the energy of a focused laser beam to seal the vein from the inside, resulting in a recovery with less bruising, swelling, pain, and a quicker return to day to day activities.
Following a thorough history, physical and ultrasound examination, Dr. Rosenwasser will determine which strategy and vein procedure is best to get you back to a healthy and pain-free life.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Some veins, usually those that are very superficial (close to the skin) or tortuous (curved), are not amenable to EVLT. In such cases, an Ambulatory Phlebectomy is usually the answer. An Ambulatory Phlebectomy is a procedure where the leg veins are removed through tiny, slit-like incisions in the skin, this procedure again can be done within the office.
Sclerotherapy, Radiofrequency and Laser Treatment for Spider Veins
Vein injections are performed for mid-size, small and spider veins that cannot be treated with EVLT.
Vein injections are more complicated than just injecting the vein. There are considerations that require skill and experience to obtain the best possible result.
Spider veins can also be treated with radiofrequency or ohmic thermolysis, similar to the way electro cautery is used to coagulate small blood vessels in the operating room.
Spider veins can also be treated with Laser at 1094 nm.
Wound Care
Dr. Edwin Rosenwasser additionally conducts as a Wound Care Specialist and has been seeing patients with chronic non-healing wounds at the South Nassau Communities Hospital Wound Care Center since 1999. Some of these wounds treated were caused by chronic venous insufficiency and benefited from procedures to eliminate venous insufficiency by preventing recurrent wounds in this population.
Compression Therapy
We offer elastic compression stockings from Juzo at a reduced price. These elastic compression stockings are worn prior to and following any treatment for varicose veins.
